It all begins with you. Your stories. Your poetry.
Every year, more than 100 Burnaby Schools students are chosen to be published authors in a professionally printed anthology. Students and their families, teachers, administrators, and trustees then gather at a fancy celebration held at the Michael J Fox Theatre in May.
So now is the time to get writing. The contest is open to all Burnaby Schools students K-12 and poetry or prose can be written in French or English. Submissions are due February 15, 2019. Talk to your teacher or principal for details.
Student artists wishing to submit cover art to be considered for the 2018-19 Words Anthology, please email BrynA.Williams@burnabyschools.ca.
Past years’ anthologies can be found in Burnaby’s school and public libraries. Here’s a link to a digital version of last year’s anthology: Words Writing Project: Freedom of Words
